Company Overview
Hexzachem Sarawak Sdn Bhd (formerly known as Hexza-Neste Chemicals Sdn Bhd) is a company registered in Malaysia with a license to produce formaldehyde and formaldehyde-based resins in Sarawak. Hexzachem (HCS) is an 80:20 joint-venture between Hexza Corporation Berhad and Sarawak Foundation.

Hexzachem has two formaldehyde plants at Demak Laut Industrial Park in Kuching, Sarawak, East Malaysia. It started operation in November 1993 producing adhesive resins mainly for marketing to the plywood and other wood panel industries in Sarawak. In 1999, the plant expanded its production capacities to 120,000MT of adhesive resins per annum and 82,000MT of formaldehyde per annum.

The formaldehyde plants are iron oxide catalyst plants delivered by D.B. Western, Inc., USA. DB Western is the manufacturer of the world largest formaldehyde plant of 1,500MT/day or 550,000MT/year capacity in Texas, USA. The technology includes the latest developments in this area and is environmental friendly.

- Melamine Urea Formaldehyde (MUF) resin for plywood
- Phenol Formaldehyde Resin for production of exterior and marine plywood
- Low Formaldehyde Emission Urea Formaldehyde Resin for particleboard and MDF board
- Hardener and additives applicable with the resin products

HCS’s customers cover the plywood, particle boards, MDF (Medium Density Fibre) board, and wood panel industries.
